Zach LaVine on Lonzo Ball: ‘He’s the glue to our team’

The Chicago Bulls have been without starting point guard Lonzo Ball since January of last season after undergoing surgery for a meniscus tear.

And Ball has still yet to return to the floor after his knee has yet to respond to rehab with pain and discomfort lingering, which led to a second surgery in September.

Bulls All-Star Zach LaVine spoke with the Inside the NBA crew prior to Tuesday’s victory against the Brooklyn Nets and was asked about his point guard, where he praised Ball’s work ethic in effort to get back.

“He’s in the gym working every day…you got to feel for him with how much he gives and puts into the game but he’s working, his head is right so hopefully he’ll be back soon,” LaVine said of Ball.

Second-year guard Ayo Dosunmu has taken the reins as the starting point guard with Ball on the shelf and has played well, but LaVine knows just how important Lonzo is to this team.

“For me personally, I can’t wait until he gets back because when he gets the ball, he looks up and throws it ahead. He’s the glue to our team offensively and defensively.”
