Yvette Cooper’s New Portrait Sparks Outrage as Brits Struggle to Make Ends Meet!

Labour’s failure to address the growing immigration crisis is evident to Express readers, who are left questioning the government’s priorities. Instead of implementing a solution to the ongoing issue of illegal crossings in the English Channel, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has been focused on self-promotion, recently replacing the iconic portrait of Admiral Nelson in Parliament with one of herself.

As illegal crossings continue and the use of asylum hotels expands, Labour’s attention seems distracted from the pressing crisis at hand. The numbers are alarming: more illegal immigrants are staying in hotels that Labour previously promised to close, deportations are at an all-time low, and 96% of those entering the country by boat are staying indefinitely.

Currently, 38,079 asylum seekers are living in hotels, a number that has steadily risen since Labour took over. Meanwhile, the asylum backlog has surged under their leadership, with 90,000 cases still pending, according to the Express.

The deportation rate for small boat arrivals is a mere 4%, a stark contrast to the promise to curb illegal immigration. In addition, Labour is making it easier for illegal immigrants to remain in the UK, allowing them to claim asylum despite laws passed by the Conservative government to prevent it. There are even reports of fast-tracking British passports for illegal immigrants, undermining the value of citizenship and tarnishing the concept of earning a passport through service to the nation.

Labour’s approach to immigration also includes relaxing age checks, enabling illegal immigrants to pose as minors and avoid detection. This has resulted in fully grown men being placed in classrooms alongside teenage girls, an action that some consider both dangerous and irresponsible. Labour’s stance appears to reward criminal behaviour, all while British taxpayers are left to foot the bill.

Instead of addressing the crisis, Cooper has focused on her image, as evidenced by her new portrait in Parliament, replacing Admiral Nelson’s. Nelson, a hero who defended Britain’s sovereignty, now finds his likeness overshadowed by a figure some consider emblematic of Labour’s vanity and incompetence.

While Labour continues to bask in self-congratulation, the UK faces a deteriorating immigration system and increasing insecurity. The British public deserves stronger leadership and a restoration of control over borders. The Conservative Party remains committed to fixing this ongoing crisis, ensuring the UK regains control and returns to a system that values its citizens and sovereignty.
