Yves Bissouma: Harry Redknapp backs ‘cheap’ transfer bargain as Antonio Conte rebuild accelerates

Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham are set for a bargain as Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma closes in on a move.

Spurs struck a deal worth around £25m with Brighton on Monday, with the south coast club eager to cash in on the midfielder.

Bissouma, strongly linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in recent months, is into the final 12 months of his contract at the Amex Stadium but now looks set for a move to north London.

Speaking to talkSPORT, former Spurs boss Redknapp was asked how much he thought the club were paying for the Mali international.

“£70 million?,” he guessed.

“Oh, cheap. He’s a good player. Strong. I like him.”

Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster have already joined Antonio Conte’s side this summer, with the Italian having been convinced to stay following transfer assurances from both Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici.

Behind the scenes, Spurs are also conducting an overhaul.

Highly-rated chief scout Andy Scoulding will join from Rangers, while former Everton head of recruitment Gretar Steinsson is set to Spurs as performance director.
