Inspired by artists such as the Arctic Monkeys, Eminem and The Cure, Yungblud used music to explore his feelings of loneliness and solitude. In 2018, he released a self-titled EP ahead of his debut album, 21st Century Liability. This collection was the result of his drive to create meaningful music with confrontational and provocative lyrics.

The 25-year-old's new album 'Here is my story' will be released on September 2, 2022, which is a follow up to his 2020's 'Weird!'. According to the rocker he chose the name for his new album because "nothing in my life has ever made more sense."
