Celtic have reportedly agreed a fee with Vissel Kobe for Yuki Kobayashi as part of another January J-League raid.
The Hoops have been going strong this season under Ange Postecoglou but the Australian has struggled for defensive numbers at times with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Moritz Jenz both spending time on the sidelines while Carl Starfelt currently nears a return from a long-term problem. He's been no stranger to a return to Japan for a January signing with Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate all joining during the Japanese close season last year.
And now it seems Celtic are ready to use that market again with defender Kobayashi a firm target according to reports in Japan. Sponichi report the two clubs have agreed a fee with Kobayashi set to undergo a medical ahead of a move that would likely see him join as soon as the January transfer window opens.
22-year-old Kobayashi is a product of the Kobe academy and can play left-back or centre-back but has spent much of this season in the middle of a back four.
