A popular Mexican YouTuber was found dead with his body showing signs of torture and a gunshot wound to the head, in what police suspect was a premeditated murder by the Sinaloa Cartel.

Agustín Paul, known as "El Pinky," a 22-year-old with over 98,000 subscribers on his channel "Los Plebes de Barrancos," gained fame for viral challenges and comedic videos.

His growing online presence may have attracted cartel attention, the Daily Star reported. Just a day before his murder, leaflets accusing him of laundering money for rival cartel La Mayiza were dropped over Culiacán, Mexico, fueling suspicions of his alleged association.

On January 10, the day of his death, a video surfaced showing El Pinky being interrogated and tortured by cartel members, who accused him of collaborating with La Mayiza. His body was discovered with his hands and feet bound, a hallmark of cartel violence.

The Sinaloa Cartel, historically tied to notorious drug lord El Chapo, has been implicated in the killing.

Police are continuing to investigate whether his YouTube content or possible cartel connections played a role in the murder.
