YouTube star Vitaly explains why he started scuffle with rival Kristen Hanby

YouTube star Vitaly believes he got the better of a physical altercation between he and rival Kristen Hanby on Wednesday night.

The pair were appearing at an open workout at Boxpark Wembley ahead of their fight this weekend when they almost came to blows after comments made about the Russian's mother by Hanby.

And they went face-to-face again last night at a press conference for the bout, where the pair once again exchanged brutal insults in an effort to ramp up the mind games.

Hanby believes he has been getting the better of the build-up exchanges after vocal performances at the open workout and media day.

But speaking with Mirror Fighting immediately after the press conference Vitaly challenged that idea, saying that he's not just up 10-9, but 10-0.

"I went on stage to scare him like a dog and that's what he was like," the Russian explained.

"I wasn't going to punch him or do nothing, I'm waiting for the fight and he sucker punched me but he missed.

"Read the comments, everyone is on my side and they will see what happens to him Saturday night.

"I feel bad, I really do - I've seen him sparring, he performed on stage, he looks like a joke; he's a street fighter and this is boxing!"

He has promised to stop Hanby within 60 seconds of their meeting, before moving on to more experienced opponents in the future.

And he is standing by that prediction, as well as guaranteeing the pair won't reignite their friendship after the fight is over.

"I'm a man of my word," he said of his warning to Hanby. "Aboslutely, you will see.

"The relationship is done, he talked s*** about my mother, I did talk s*** about his grandmother, I take responsibility for that but mothers are different.

"He's going to get slapped around, it's a Rottweiler against a Chihuahua in the ring, I'm going to tear him apart.

"He's going to regret this - it's going to hurt.

"A bull couldn't knock me out, how is someone going to tell me Kristen Hanby can knock me out?"

The Russian has been locked away in a secluded Moscow training camp with super-lightweight prospect Vladimir Myshev, who holds a youth intercontinental title with the WBC.

He's quit drinking and taking drugs, as well as weaned himself off steroids which he used during the height of his YouTube fame to attain a monstrous physique, and has lost almost two stone for the fight.

And he expects to see the results when he gets in front of a crowd at London's OVO Arena Wembley this weekend, before taking his mother away for a lavish birthday trip.

"I've been in cold Russia training in the snow," he continued. "As soon as I'm done my mum's birthday is March 7.

"My birthday is the next day and I'm going to take her to Thailand or the Maldives and we're going to chill and drink coconuts on the beach to celebrate my victory."
