YouTube star Deji drops and stops 'hater' during one-sided sparring session

Deji left a 'hater' on one knee in their sparring session after inviting him to his gym to settle their differences.

The YouTube star was being mocked by a group of people known by his close friend Shane Castagnet, even after picking up his first boxing win against Yousef 'Fousey' Erakat in August. Deji had lost his first three boxing fights to Jake Paul, TikToker Vinnie Hacker and fellow YouTuber Alex Wassabi but put on an excellent display against Fousey on the undercard of his brother KSI's boxing return at The O2 arena.

Deji explained that a friend of Castagnet's was mocking his boxing skills after beating Fousey so he challenged him to a spar, despite the 'hater' having no boxing experience. "Over the years I've been losing all my fights and my boy Shane, his friends have been chatting s***. Even after my win they were still chatting s***, so I asked Shane to organise me sparring the guys who were chatting s*** really. So enjoy this is me sparring essentially a hater," he said on his YouTube channel.

As the spar between the pair gets underway, Deji lands the first big punch by way of a check hook that stumbles the 'hater' and leaves him wrong-footed in the exchange. The spar only lasted two rounds as Deji's critic called to take breaks in between as he was encouraged by his corner to keep his hands up. Deji left his 'hater' on one knee by landing several hard shots to the head and body, with the critic refusing to take part in another round after being beat up for several minutes.

"Shout out to James boy, stepping in the ring is not easy so well done," Deji said after the spar. "Even though you did chat s***, you pulled up to the challenge. Nothing but respect, the fact you can do that in itself already I know you can easily grow as a person from that. Essentially, I know I humbled but you can grow from it. I got humbled and I grew, so use this as a lesson and grow from it."

Deji is set to compete in his fifth fight when he challenges ring legend Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout on November 13 in Dubai. The YouTube star has promised he isn't just turning up to "survive" against Mayweather and will try to finish the former five-weight world champion. Deji said of the fight: "I still can't believe this happening. I'm going to put on a performance against him, I'm going to show why I deserve to be in the ring and showcase my skill."
