YouTube star Chunkz on returning to Old Trafford and playing alongside his idols at Soccer Aid

YouTube personality Chunkz will have stars in his eyes when he takes part in Soccer Aid for the fourth year in a row. The entertainer and social media star will be back on the pitch this summer as the huge televised charity match returns.

Now in its 12th year, Soccer Aid raises money for UNICEF. The celebrity football match is returning to Manchester after raising a record-breaking £15,673,728 at London Stadium in 2022.

The England squad captained by Lionesses’ Euro 2022 winner and Queen of The Jungle Jill Scott who is making her Soccer Aid debut. Olympic sprinting legend Usain Bolt is back off the starting block as the World XI captain and The Last Leg co-host Alex Brooker, who was the first-ever physically disabled person in the game, returns this year.

"I've already started training," YouTuber Chunkz, who has 2.79million subscribers, told us. "Raising money for charity alongside watching my childhood idol Jack Wilshere is a dream come true. I've always loved football and I've been a fan of Arsenal for as long as I can remember, and I grew up watching these guys," he said about the Soccer Aid England squad which also includes Tottenham Hotspur star Jermain Defoe.

Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United, will host the star-studded match on Sunday, June 11. The England squad will be captained by Lionesses’ Euro 2022 winner and Queen of The Jungle Jill Scott who is making her Soccer Aid debut. Olympic sprinting legend Usain Bolt is back off the starting block as the World XI captain.

Old Trafford previously hosted the match in 2020 behind closed doors, in line with Covid protocols at the time. Chunkz, 27, said: "The last one raised over £15million, which is a big achievement. It will be great to be back at Old Trafford this year with a full stadium. Running out onto the pitch will make me feel like a professional footballer."

Soccer Aid has raised over £75 million for UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) since 2006. Money raised this year could help UNICEF protect children from disease and malnutrition, keep them safe in times of crisis and get them back to school. A family of four (two adults, two children) can attend for £60. Tickets are on sale now via socceraid.org.uk/tickets.
