YouTube boxer Logan Paul achieves Guinness World Record for out-of-ring exploits

Logan Paul broke a Guinness World Record after acquiring a Pokemon card worth £3.8million.

YouTube star Paul purchased a PSA Grade 10 Pikachu Illustrator card in Dubai last July which broke a record for the most expensive Pokemon trading card sold at a private sale. Just to buy the Grade 10 card, Paul bought a Grade 9 version of the card for £900,000 from a sports card collector in Italy.

He wore the card around his neck whilst making his WWE debut at Wrestlemania 38 on Saturday night. Paul, who won his wrestling match alongside The Miz, explained the rarity of the card he wore in the ring.

"The Pikachu Illustrator is one of the rarest and most highly coveted Pokemon cards in the world," he said. "Only 39 were given out to Illustration contest winners in 1998, and this was a purchase for the only one in the world that has been graded a 'perfect 10'."

"I love Pokémon and the fact that it’s been validated with Guinness World Records – this is crazy. Tonight’s a wild night. This does not feel real! I applied for so many records and the fact that I finally got one after my first [WWE] win ever? I come back to the locker room and I get a second win right away."

Paul had previously bought a batch of collectable Pokemon cards worth £2.6million only to later discover that they were fake. Upon realising the cards were not legitimate, an authenticator claimed it "the biggest fraud in the entire history of Pokemon ".

The 27-year-old was ecstatic after making his WWE debut and joked he can longer call himself the world's highest-paid loser after winning against wrestling legend Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik.

"This is surreal. I cannot believe I got to share a ring with the Mysterio's and also won the match. You know this is my first win, you know I can no longer say I'm the world's highest-paid loser, that was my thing. I won something, this is great!"

When asked why his partner The Miz turned on him after the match, Paul said: "If I had to guess, he's probably jealous. I was doing flips, going off the top rope and doing cool s***. He doesn't have it like me, I think he got jealous and decided to turn on me."
