YouTube star King Kenny has slammed his opponent in this weekend's Kingpyn Boxing quarter-final as "boring" after an understated build-up to the pair's Wembley Arena bout.
Kenny is looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss at the hands of Ashley Tebi in his last outing with a quick turnaround to start the three-fight 'High Stakes' Kingpyn tournament. But he has been struggling to sell the fight with his rival opting to stay in Thailand, where he's a major influencer, to train with minimal hype.
And with the fight just days away, Kenny has admitted he would prefer to have an opponent in the next round with whom he has a problem for the sake of an heated build-up. The Beta Squad star will fight twice after Saturday in Dublin and London, before taking time off to focus on content creation after seven fights in 18 months.
"I always seem to fight nice guys," a frustrated Kenny told Mirror Fighting . "I haven't really had anyone that's really given it back. Even look at My Mate Nate, just look at him. In the build-up he's boring, he doesn't post much, there's f***ing nothing for me to work with.
"All my fights have been like that, the opponents have been the type of people who don't want to show too much in case they lose and don't want to be made a meme. But just help, be a good dance partner and help in building the fight. It's just discouraging for me when I'm going to do all this and they're not going to do anything, what's the f***ing point?"
Kenny is one of the more polished boxers in the influencer space, thanks almost entirely to his trainer and brother Daley Perales, who has moulded him into a talented technician. But he has struggled with letting his hands go in previous fights, ultimately costing him in his debut and his last outing against Faze Temperrr and Ashely Tebi respectively.

However, new sparring footage has emerged of him throwing caution to the wind, and he is promising a much more explosive performance this time out. "I'll beat him up and make him apologise for not promoting the fight," Kenny joked. "I probably just need someone that I actually don't like for the promotion to be fireworks.
"I've still got a lot to learn because I started this thing late. I think that people forget that considering I've gone in there with the most experienced guys. My first fight was KSI's fifth fight! Can you believe that? I've gone in with the most experienced guys and all I'm trying to say is I've done that with less experience. I'm not complaining, I like the challenge.
"People just don't know their history or do their research and they see someone from their appearance and go 'he's a bum'. Did you see their fights? I've never fought a bum... The people that get it, get it. They don't really see the detail in these fights, but it's not something that can be explained."
