Gangs of unruly youths have been hurling rocks over a former Paisley railway bridge at cars driving below.
A number of reports have been made to police regarding damage to vehicles which have been smacked with stones and larger rocks being tossed from Blackstoun Road railway bridge in the town’s Ferguslie Park area.
Two reports from concerned members of the public were received just last week on Thursday and again on Saturday.
Police in Paisley are now working with Renfrewshire Council to address the issue amid fears someone could end up seriously hurt by the dangerous actions of the youngsters.
This is the latest incident of youth disorder in the area, with police recently tackling ongoing issues of youths drinking and causing trouble in the area.

The ongoing behaviour has caused concern for a number of nearby residents, prompting police to take action to tackle the “unacceptable behaviour”.
Inspector Laura Hamill, of Paisley’s community policing team, said: “This is an issue which is of great concern to us as someone could end up seriously hurt or significant damage could be done to passing vehicles.
“Officers have dealt with a number of incidents of youth disorder in the area and we are currently working with Renfrewshire Council and other organisations in order to reach a solution to prevent this unacceptable behaviour in a way which allows the public to continue to enjoy access to the railway bridge.”
The area is a popular spot for dog walkers in the town as it provides access to South Candren Farm, therefore police have not blocked off access as they do not want to prevent community use.
Paisley Northwest councillor Mags MacLaren said it is an ongoing issue she has been made aware of a number of times, and has been liaising with police to try and crackdown on the situation.
The SNP councillor said: “This is an issue which has been raised with me a number of times and one that I’ve been working with the police to try to resolve.
“Clearly this is a dangerous situation for any passing motorist, with either driver or passengers likely to face harm if the windscreen is smashed or if their car veers off the road.
“Any incident needs to be reported as it happens to allow the police the best chance of catching the culprits in the act.”
