Borussia Dortmund star and reported Manchester United transfer target Youssoufa Moukoko has admitted he would "love to stay" at his Bundesliga side in a bitter blow for Erik ten Hag's January transfer plans.
Moukoko has been in scintillating form for the Black and Yellows, having scored six goals and provided six assists in 22 appearances across all competitions this season.
The 17-year-old's contract comes to an end this summer, and there appeared to be growing concern among the hierarchy at the Bundesliga club that they may lose their teenage star for free if they fail to agree a January deal. United had reportedly been looking to take advantage of the situation and position themselves as a potential destination for Moukoko in what could be a cut-price move.

Following the early exit of Cristiano Ronaldo from Old Trafford, the need to reinforce their offensive options has increased, with the club not being shy of bringing forward their summer plans to sign a striker to January. Although Ten Hag has been warned against a repetition of the £225million he spent before the September 1 deadline, the £16m saved in wages from the 37-year-old will certainly help ease some financial constraints that may have been in place.
However, the Germany international has now poured cold water over any potential deal, as he admitted that he would prefer to stay put at his current side.
“I feel so comfortable at BVB [Dortmund], I love the club. I’d really love to stay at Borussia Dortmund,” he told German outlet RND (via the Express ) when asked about his future. “I want to understand what kind of project and perspective the club will offer me, it’s an important point”.
