Arsenal's summer business has been fast and effective so far. While last year saw a lot of additions made later in the window, the Gunners have already added five names to their squad for pre-season.
Matt Turner, Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have all joined the club in a spending spree that has cost just over £100million. Mikel Arteta will be hopeful his new options give him both better depth and quality throughout his squad heading into a busy campaign.
The goalkeeping, defensive and attacking departments have all had some reinforcing, though despite signing Vieira and Zinchenko, the midfield is still somewhat light on numbers. football.london understands that signing a midfielder is still high on the transfer priority list for the club before the end of the window.

A whole host of players have been linked to fill the gaps in the squad, especially since the likes of Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny have contracts that expire next year. However, some suit certain roles more than others so with that said, here's a little look at which potential additions could be best suited to the side.
Lucas Paqueta
Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta has been rumoured with a move to the Emirates, having impressed for the French club since making the switch from AC Milan. While he has shown signs of being a top player, the midfielder occupies a role too similar to that of existing squad members at Arsenal.
The 24-year-old often prefers to operate in the right half space when receiving the ball, mirroring that of Martin Odegaard. The Norway international was known for drifting to that side last season, impressing when combining with Bukayo Saka on the wing.
It would, therefore, make it difficult for the Brazilian to break into the side in that advanced role, where more is needed slightly deeper in terms of other options.
Arthur Melo
Juventus' Arthur Melo was linked with a loan move to Arsenal back in January, however the move never materialised. This summer, the Gunners are said to have revived their interest, with the Bianconeri keen to move him on.
The Brazilian's style suits closer to Arsenal than that of Paqueta, playing mostly on the left of a midfield three and with more box-to-box ability in his locker. He is comfortable receiving the ball and his slightness allows him to evade the press when executed properly.
While confidence is low surrounding the 25-year-old - given his struggles in both Spain and Italy - the idea of a loan move could be a low risk venture that pays off at the end of the season. Tottenham have done similar in loaning Clement Lenglet from Barcelona, while Chelsea's loan of Saul Niguez failed but didn't have a lasting impact on the squad.
Youri Tielemans
Youri Tielemans is approaching his final 12 months under contract at Leicester City and seems unlikely to be staying at the club. The Foxes are said to be willing to let the Belgian leave for roughly £25million, with both Arsenal and Manchester United interested.
The 25-year-old would fit the system under Arteta, able to offer his abilities in a box-to-box capacity. His ability on the ball is clear to see and his attacking contributions are helpful too.
Where he struggles slightly more physically in a defensive capacity, if he's paired with a more robust defensive midfielder - like Wilfried Ndidi at Leicester - he could shine at Arsenal for a low price.
