However you feel about fast fashion, when one of our favourite independent brands strikes up an affordable off-shoot collection, we’re all ears. Studio Nicholson, the quietly mighty east London label has followed up last year’s step into Zara’s world with a collaboration incorporating men’s, women’s and homeware. Its creative director, Nick Wakeman, brings her deft skill for minimal design and thoughtful process to the high street giant. On staying true to her principles, Wakeman says that “fabrication is the cornerstone of the Studio Nicholson brand and together we have worked on sourcing the highest calibre of materials for the collection. They’re innovative, challenging and really quite special.” Alongside organic cotton trench coats, wool trousers and recycled cashmere knits you’ll find scrunchy leather clutch bags and Wakeman’s favourite, a marble table lamp with paper shade.
