Your week in chic: Pearls for Spring and Leandra Medine's chic French collaboration

Pearls for spring? Our new favourite styling update

Celine winter 2024 (Celine)

Miu Miu Winter 2024 (Miu Miu)

Yes, it’s happening, chunky strings of pearls are back. At Celine’s triumph of a Triomphe collection, Hedi Slimane popped them in three strings, left. It picked up on a trend seen in chokers at Dior’s Haute Couture summer show; while at Miu Miu necklace strings were styled askew, which is the kind of can’t-be-bothered detail we can really lean into. Raid your granny’s jewellery box, Vinted or check out Timeless Pearly for playful strings ready to stack. Wear with everything - from your Audrey Hepburn-tinted grown up looks to scruffy jeans. We’ve never not met a face that couldn’t be lightened up by a string or two, or three frankly.

Your next collaboration crush is here

Leandra Medina Cohen for Soeur (Soeur)

Hot on the heels of last summer’s sell out collection, Leandra Medine Cohen has teamed up for a second time with sweet French brand Soeur for another outing of Café Leandra. The melding of New York and Parisian style has as much je ne sais quoi as you’d imagine - soft yellow polo shirts, quirky shift dresses and lemon Mary Janes will chicly guide you into the new season.

Coffee table essential of the week

Issey Miyake (Issey Miyake)

Any self-respecting fashion obsessive’s shelves will be crying out for Taschen’s definitive tome on Issey Miyake, the iconic (and we really don’t use that word lightly) Japanese designer who passed away in 2022. The book details 50 years of his rule-breaking, silhouette-redefining genius through technical wizardry and rich colour-play from 1960 through to 2022; from his incredibly successful Pleats Please pieces to his more avant-garde works of creative art showcasing in his own words, his intention ‘to forge ahead, to break the moulds’.

Issey Miyake’, edited by Midori Kitamura, text by Kazuko Koike, is out now (£80; Taschen)

We’re still crying over Dries…

Dries Van Noten (Getty Images)

The industry issued a collective sob when Dries Van Noten (aka the nicest man in fashion) announced he would be stepping down from his eponymous label last week. The brand will go on, but the genius behind it is off to tend to his famed garden. We’ll miss you, sir. See you at the Vestiaire scramble for his archive pieces.
