The federal election is coming up on May 3, 2025, so you know what that means… it’s sausage sizzle time. To get you democracy sausage ready, we’ve teamed up with ol’ mate Pat from the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) to give you a refresher on the voting process.
Our three-part video series walks you through everything you need to know about the federal election from:
- How to make sure you’re actually enrolled
- Debunking the top three voting myths
- How to spot false and misleading electoral information
Whether you’re voting for the first time or have voted a couple of times, we’ve got you covered.
In the first video, Pat walks you through how to enrol — and it’s not as scary as you think. Enrolment is quick and easy and takes less than five minutes. Seriously, by the time you’ve watched our video, you could’ve enrolled.
If you’ve voted before, Pat reminds us all to check and update your details. For starters, have you moved? (I definitely have.)
Why? Voting gives us a say in how the country is run and ensures our views are heard. This is the first time Gen Z and Millennials outnumber Baby Boomers in a federal election.*
Now, go forth and enrol, check or update your enrolment details. Come back when you’re ready to debunk voting myths and learn how to spot false and misleading info during this federal election.
*Elector Count December 2024.
