If you use Sky Q, Sky Glass or a new Stream box there's some nifty new tricks you can try with your remote control. Sky has just revealed that it's added a bunch of extra voice commands to its channel changers which will help you launch one of its most popular new shows without hunting through endless menus.
The Last of US, which is based on the post-apocalyptic PlayStation game, has quickly become a roaring success with Sky boasting that it has gained three million viewers and has been tipped to pick up at least three Emmys.
Now, fans of this show can easily launch the series on their TVs via a bunch of new commands. If you love this epic drama and want to give it a go, simply grab your remote then press the voice button and say these famous quotes to launch things.
NEW SKY REMOTE TRICKS TO TRY - JUST SAY...
"When you’re lost in the darkness, look for the light"
"Save who you can save"
"I'm going to love you for a long, long time"
"No pun intended"
"I got you, Baby Girl"
Along with these new voice commands there's another nice hidden bonus from Sky.
If you play PS5, you can jump from the game straight into the latest episode using the recently upgraded Sky Go PS5 app.
This platform has just been updated to include a fresh new UI which Sky says makes it even easier to use, and offers you new features such as Auto-Play, Subtitles, a Continue Watching rail, and a brand-new homepage.
Of course, there are plenty more hidden tricks you can try with your remote including being able to skip through shows using your voice.
Yes, instead of using the arrow keys and touchpad, you can simply say "Go To 45 Minutes" or "Skip 30 Minutes" to immediately race to a certain point in the show.
If you want to get to your recordings a little faster then there's another handy trick.
Tapping the "Sky" logo at the top of the remote will immediately load the Recordings page – and it works wherever you are in the Sky Q menu too!
Finally, if you're struggling to find your Sky Q remote there is a quick-and-easy way to locate it.
Pressing the Q on the front of your Sky Q box will start a repetition beeping sound from a small speaker on the remote (a bit like a car alarm, but for your remote).
That should help you track it down even if it's slipped down the side of the sofa.
