Your nail shape says a lot about your personality - find out what it means for you

Those who love finding out more about themselves are invited to try a new nail personality test - and the results could prove pretty telling.

Some people believe that the shape of your nails can reveal plenty about a person, including traits and attributes they didn't even know they had, from creativity to decision-making to the ability to stay cool and calm under pressure.

This particular test looks at four different types of nail shapes - vertically long nails, wide nails, round nails, and square nails - and the personality traits commonly associated with them.

Take a quick look at your hands, and read on to find out what your nails are secretly saying about you:

Vertically long nail shape

According to this test, which was previously shared by Jagran Josh, those with long nail shapes are likely to be "calm, independent, and pragmatic", with the right side of their brain more developed than the left.

These individuals will probably be "both creative and logical", and will generally have a "soft and easy-going temperment". They may however find themselves feeling overwhelmed at times, due to being good at picking up subtle cues, leading them to either lose their cool or shut off completely.

Long nailed individuals will take pride in their work, always giving 100 per cent when it comes to effort. They may well also have a talent for expressing themselves through art or writing.

Wide nail shape

Those with wide nail shapes are said to "direct and open-minded" due to their "strong sense of self-assurance", and will likely also be viewed as charismatic, reliable, and expressive.

A natural conversationalist and collaborator, these individuals don't shy away from speaking their mind, and will also be keen to hear new ideas that differ from their own.

They'll also have great networking skills, being a dab hand at reading the emotions of others, and will most likely be a great leader due to their organised, efficient, and responsible personalities.

Round nail shape

Those with round nails tend to take things in their stride, and it takes a lot to get them feeling flustered. Highly optimistic, these cheerful individuals will bounce back quite easily after setbacks, and always try to look for the silver lining in life.

Naturally good listeners with a gift for empathy and conflict resolution, round-nailed people may make great professional counsellors. They'll also work great as part of a team, being happy to muck in and do their best in new situations.

Often regarded as "romantic and sentimental" by those around them, those with round nails will love capturing and cherishing precious memories with those they love.

Square nail shape

People with square nails will likely be very independent sorts who won't take kindly to being told what to do. Skilled when it comes to making their own choices, they'll be excellent at taking charge and finding solutions to difficult problems.

Adventurous and fond of trying new experiences, square-nailed individuals will have a pioneering, innovative outlook on life, and will probably be very ambitious and driven.

In their personal lives, they'll likely be "fiercely loyal" when it comes to their family and friends, and will always be there for them no matter what.
