Following an exhaustive search two lucky youngsters have rolled up their sleeves to help Santa choose this year’s top toys.
Hundreds of good boys and girls applied to be toy testers but it was six-year-old Zoe Honeyman from Greenhills in East Kilbride and Brodie Wilson, 7, from Busby who came out on top to put this year’s most popular toys through their paces at The Entertainer toy store in EK, East Kilbride.
The two testers had a ball playing and testing everything from toy dogs, Jenga and remote control cars to Nerf blasters, Jenga and Operation.
Zoe, a pupil of Greenhills Primary, said: “I couldn’t believe it when my mum told me I was going to be a toy tester.
"I loved playing with all the toys but I think Waggles the dog was my favourite.”
Busby Primary pupil Brodie added: “I love The Entertainer and was really excited when I found out I was going to be able to play with the toys. The Nerff blasters were great fun.”
To thank them for helping with such an important task Brodie and Zoe were each awarded a £50 gift voucher from The Entertainer plus a goodie bag.
A spokesman for EK, East Kilbride, said: “Zoe and Brodie were amazing toy testers and did a great job.
"We will now make sure all their recommendations are passed to Santa when her arrives in East Kilbride at the weekend.”
Any youngsters looking to tell Santa in person what they would like this year can come along to EK’s festive forest grotto in the run up to the big day from December 22 to 24.
There will be no charge to see Santa, although visitors are encouraged to make a donation to EK charity Kilbryde Hospice at the grotto.
