Gardai are investigating after a woman aged in her twenties was injured in a random attack in Co. Donegal on St Patrick’s Day.
The incident occurred in an estate off the High Road in Letterkenny between the hours of 3am and 4.10am on March 17.
The woman was walking back from the town when she was set upon by a man in the Beechwood Park area.

The woman suffered injuries as a result of the attack, but they were described as non-life threatening.
The victim managed to get a good look at the man who is described as being between 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in in height, aged mid to late 20s or early 30s, he had a shaved head and a beard, and he wore a distinctive red top Gilet jacket.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating an assault on a woman in her 20s that occurred between the hours of 3am and 4:10am on the morning of Thursday, 17th March, 2022, in the Beechwood Park area of Letterkenny, County Donegal.
“The woman received non life threatening injuries during the course of this assault. No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing.
“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or for anyone with information to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074 9167100.”
