Dozens of heartfelt tributes have poured in for a “beautiful” young Scots mother-of-two who died suddenly aged just 26. Sophie Stowell, from Glasgow, leaves behind her loving partner Christopher Grierson and her two young sons Theo, two, and Logan, eight-months, after passing away on July 18.
Devastated pals have arranged a balloon release memorial for the devoted mum, which is due to take place at Drumchapel High School on Saturday, August 13. And a fundraiser to help support her grieving family has also been set up - raising more than £3400 within just three days.
An amateur football match between Port Glasgow side OC United and AFC Clyde on Friday, July 29, is also being held in memory of Sophie as Christopher’s former teammates rally around the family. Best pal Kailey Mcandie led the tributes paid to Sophie on social media. She wrote: “Words can't describe how I'm feeling, how everyone is feeling.
“My best friend, my rock, my sister is gone. You've been the ray of light everytime I needed you, from calling a Chinese when I couldn't bring myself to complain to just having each other through thick and thin.
“Through high school, through adulthood, our partying to falling pregnant together to raising our boys together to seeing you become a mummy to two wonderful little boys to see you in a loving relationship getting the treatment you deserve and more.
“Seeing how happy and bubbly you were gave me confidence to be who I am today. I'll miss everything and more about you Sophie. My heart is breaking and it still doesn't feel real.
“I want to hold you one last time, hear your laugh, hear your rants, hell even hear your cry. We had over 10 years together and you deserved to have 10+ and more. You were only 26 and I miss you so much and I don't know what to do with myself.
“Just you know Sophie, I'll be there for those boys. I'll tell them all about their mummy and I’ll tell Luke about aunty Soph and all our funny stories.
“I love you to the moon and back hunny. Our little ray of sunshine. My sister. We will meet again and I can’t wait to hold you again, sending my love to everyone of Sophie's family, the boys and Chris. Rip Sophie, I love you.”
Christopher’s gran Sandra added: “You were so loved by us all. You and Christopher gave me two beautiful great grandsons, Theo and Logan, and I promise to do all I can to help their daddy to raise them and keep your memory alive by telling them all about their wonderful mum and how much you adored them and their daddy.
“It is so hard to take in that you have gone from our lives and hearts Sophie. Taken far too soon. You were loved by us all more than you will ever know. You were a bubbly, happy young girl (who was) always smiling no matter what life threw at you.
“You just lived and loved for your three boys Christopher, Theo and Logan. I wish with all my heart and soul that it was all a bad dream and you could walk back through the door again back where you belong with your wee family. But it's not .
“Our hearts are totally crushed to bits right now. All I can say now is rest in peace now Sophie. You will always be remembered and never forgotten.
“You are a very special beautiful angel and wherever you are now, I hope you can look down on your wee family and look out for Christopher and guide him through this very difficult time as he comes to terms with his grief and bringing up your beautiful sons.”
