Clinton Nsiala may have only just broken into the Rangers first team squad in 2025 - but he’s already been handed a flattering comparison.
The former AC Milan youth star has started the last three matches amid an Ibrox injury crisis.
And following a clean sheet against Aberdeen on Wednesday night, teammate Ross McCausland has claimed Nsiala is already showing glimpses of Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.
Addressing the media ahead of Rangers' Scottish Cup clash with Fraserburgh, McCausland made the surprising statement about the 21-year-old centre-back, who only joined the club last summer.
"He's been amazing," he said. "Just even the past few games watching him, us on the bench was saying he was like Van Dijk, a left-footed Van Dijk.
"So, it was good to see that he was ready for his opportunity and he's certainly took it."
