Young girl, 12, rushed to hospital after being knocked down on Scots road

A 12-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in a Scots town.

Emergency services rushed to the incident on Oxcars Drive, Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline, around 8am on Wednesday.

The 12-year-old girl was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment.

The extent of her injuries is not yet known.

It is understood there was no criminality involved in the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Oxcars Drive, Dalgety Bay around 8.15am on Wednesday 8 June 2022 to a report of a child being hit by a car.

"A 12-year-old girl was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy."
