Young football fan in tears as England player Mason Mount sends her special message

A young football fan was in tears on Friday's This Morning after receiving a very special message from England player Mason Mount.

Ten-year-old Belle McNally melted hearts when she was given a shirt by Mason following the Three Lions' epic Euros 2020 clash at Wembley on Wednesday evening.

In a sweet video filmed by another football fan, Belle can be seen bursting into tears and hugging her dad Tommy as she tried to come to terms with what had just happened.

Appearing on Friday's This Morning, Belle and her father spoke to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about the unforgettable moment.

Asked how she felt after being given the shirt, Belle told the TV hosts: "It was so many different emotions because as I said, I didn’t expect it at all.

"Many people came up to me and high-fived me as I tried to walk up the stairs," she added.

The youngster also brought the shirt with her and said: "I’m going to have it framed and put it on my bedroom wall."

When Phillip asked Belle and her dad where they would be watching the final on Friday evening, Tommy revealed that it wasn't Belle's turn to attend.

He explained that he actually has three children and it would be his youngest's turn to attend the game with him.

But at that moment, Phillip revealed that they had a special surprise for Belle as Mason had recorded a personalised message for her.

The camera then cut to the 22-year-old Mason and his pre-recorded message in which he thanked Belle for her support.

"Hi Belle, it’s Mason here, and I just wanted to do this message to you and say how special your reaction was after the game when I gave you my shirt," Mason began.

"Obviously we won the game and that was a big achievement but that really topped it off for me, and made it an even [more] special night for me.

"Thank you for all your support, it really means a lot and hopefully see you Sunday," Mason added.

Belle confirmed that she had 'bunked off' school to make the trip to Wembley with her dad Tommy (ITV)

Holly then said: "Awwwwwww you can cry, they're happy tears and we like happy tears here," as Phillip added: "How's that? That's pretty amazing isn't it?"

It was recently revealed that young Belle is a model and an aspiring actress, and has worked with brands such as Burberry.

Belle had confirmed that she had 'bunked off' school to make the trip to Wembley and wrote on social media on Thursday: "Had the best day ever at Wembley. Thank you Mason Mount."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
