Wednesday night was a historic one for Celtic as they secured their place in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage, courtesy of a 1-0 win over BSC Young Boys.
The atmosphere at Celtic Park was electric throughout and there wasn’t many supporters rushing towards the exit doors as the jubilant Hoops players walked around the pitch to celebrate their team achieving such landmark for the first time in 12 years.
But there was one Celtic fan whose day was made extra special as he experienced an unforgettable exchange with the visiting support.
Kevin McLaughlin’s son, Joshua, stayed behind after the final whistle and was given his own unique moment from the Young Boys following, who had packed out the away end for their penultimate Champions League league-phase clash.
He was handed a scarf and Young Boys memorabilia, and then went on to lead a chant in sync with the away faithful.
Reposting the video, which has racked up millions of views on social media, the Swiss club wrote: “💚🤍 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟 💛🖤
“Joshua, a young Celtic fan, was at Celtic Park with his dad yesterday and after the game there was this cute scene where Joshua did the wave with the whole YB curve. The BSC Young Boys supporters then gave him a YB scarf.

Speaking exclusively to Newsquest, proud dad Kevin shared the story of how Joshua was incredibly fascinated by the Young Boys fans during the memorable European match. Then seized the opportunity to join those he had admired from afar.
He said: "Joshua comes to every home game with me, we sit in the North Stand and after every game we go down right to the halfway line and we wave to the players coming round at the end.
"Joshua loves to go along to see the supporters, particularly at European games, and last night he said that he was quite fascinated by the noise, the colour, and just the general good nature and humour, and banter, the sing-song if you like, from the Young Boys fans.
"And we went along and he stood in front of them, he was looking at them very mesmerised and then started to wave to them and they all started to wave back.
"So, he started to walk towards them and then as he walked towards them they raised their voices to sing to him, and that was when he went along and started having fun with them.
"The supporters were brilliant. Just after that the police let a couple of Young Boys supporters through, they gave him Young Boys stickers and a Young Boys scarf as well.
"He was really delighted, and on the way home the car could've flipped home itself, it was like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He was really, really delighted.
"He's went to school quite happy but we've now been invited to join Celtic Football Club as guests in the directors’ box with all the directors and invited guests on Saturday.
"A lot of people have been in touch from Celtic sites wishing to speak to him and to send him T-shirts. In general, it's went viral. It's had 1.5million views on Twitter, so it's great."
