Workplace Health and Safety is investigating how a nine-year-old boy fell seven metres from a zip-line on the Sunshine Coast.
Paramedics were called to TreeTop Challenge Sunshine Coast on Nambour Connection Road at Woombye on Sunday about 3pm after receiving reports a boy had fallen.
A Workplace Health and Safety Queensland spokesperson said a comprehensive investigation was underway and inspectors, investigators and experts were on-site in Woombye today.
"Relevant equipment has been seized, including part of the zip-line and harness," a spokesperson said.
"At this stage, zip-line activity has not resumed.”
The ABC attended the business and was told by a man who said he was the owner that the company was working with investigators and could not comment any further.
The company's doors remained closed today.
A Sunshine Coast University Hospital spokesperson said the nine-year-old boy had been released from hospital after being treated for back pain.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the boy was not suspected to have sustained spinal injuries.
It is the second high-rope incident in the region in the past four years after a 14-year-old Brisbane schoolboy was strangled at a camp on a high-ropes course in 2018.
