One young Australia fan is set to be given one of David Warner's shirts after a brilliant exchange with the opener during the first ODI against England at the Adelaide Oval.
The fan was shown by host broadcaster Fox holding up a piece of paper where he asked: "David Warner can I have ur shirt?" Fox then showed a split screen of the fan with Warner, who was sat in the dressing room after scoring an excellent 85.
A few balls later, the camera focused on Warner once again who was now holding a note of his own addressed to the fan. "Get One Off Marnus", Warner's note read.
"That's good work by David Warner," laughed Fox commentator Mark Howard. "Very nice David!"
Just one ball later, the fan was ready with a response, with another supporter holding up a new note that read: "Marnus can I please have your shirt". And after seeing the second note, Warner laughed and gave the fan a thumbs up for his efforts.
Warner later commented on the moment on his Instagram story, responding to a post about it from a fan account. "I'll give him a shirt during the test match," he wrote.
Australia return to the Adelaide Oval on December 8 for the second Test against the West Indies. And cricket fans praised Warner for the exchange, with one writing: "These type of things are fun, make boring ODI into a memorable one for someone. Good work cameraman".
A second added: "this is the kind of content i watch cricket for". A third fan simply wrote: "Loved this."
Australia ultimately won the match by six wickets, cruising to victory thanks to half-centuries from Warner, Travis Head and Steve Smith after Dawid Malan stood alone for England with a brilliant century.
