The Astros may not have won Monday’s clash against the Marlins, but one young supporter of the team walked away from the game with a huge smile on his face.
After Houston’s 5-1 loss in Miami on Monday, star second baseman Jose Altuve could be seen approaching a group of Astros fans, which included a young boy. In a heartwarming postgame moment, Altuve could be seen taking the jersey off his back, signing it, and handing it to the child, who had an incredible response to the 33-year-old’s gesture.
The fan was ecstatic to receive such a gift from Houston’s star infielder, so much so that he was reduced to tears, unable to control his emotions after meeting and receiving a game-worn jersey from one of his heroes.
After an @Astros loss in Miami, José Altuve still made time for fans.

Amid a slew of fans reaching out in hopes of getting their gear signed by the eight-time All-Star, Altuve took the time to go above and beyond for the young, die-hard supporter. It’s a moment that’ll surely be a lifelong memory for the fan.
Despite Houston’s loss, Altuve had a great game at the plate, registering three hits in four at-bats, with one walk and one RBI.
