You're using plasters wrong - people can't believe they didn't know 'mindblowing' hack

Most people know that paper cuts and other finger injuries can be incredibly painful, and one thing that can help protect the open wound is a plaster.

Because we often use our hands it's easy to get dirt in there, which is when a plaster comes in useful. But many will also know that bandages can be a pain to use, because they never seem to be the right shape.

If you use a classic, long plaster shape, it always seems to be a bulbous inconvenience. It either just slides off, or there are big corners that just get in the way of everything.

Luckily, a video has surfaced showing a hack to make the plaster fit perfectly and snugly around the finger, and it turns out many people have been doing it wrong their whole lives.

A woman on TikTok, who posts under the username @thewellnessspot, showed the "life hack which blew my mind". It went viral and has now been seen by more than 9.6 million people.

The woman said you can "thank her" later, and filmed herself using scissors to cut in the middle of each side of the plaster, down to the cushioned white bit. The plaster then has four sticky bits, instead of just two.

The woman then criss-crosses each strip so that they fit snugly on her finger, with no lumps sticking in places where they shouldn't.

People in the comment section were "mind blown" by the hack, and they couldn't believe they didn't already know it.

One person said: "I swear I learn more from TikTok in one hour than I have my whole life."

Another commented: "Ok you're a genius I see," while a third added: "Why have I never thought about this."

"I'm upset that I didn't think of this," said a fourth, while another added: "This changed my life forever".

Meanwhile, another mum has previously shared a 'game-changing' hack for removing a plaster which could save your kids from crying.

A TikTok user discovered that she could remove a plaster without painfully pulling at the skin by adding Vaseline on top of it to soften it.

In a video, the mum from the US showed that the protective aid slid off with no fuss after applying some with a cotton bud.
