You're Invited to the Carnival of Love Event in Pokémon GO Happening this Month

February is the month of love and it's no surprise that Pokémon GO is celebrating just that. Get ready for the Carnival of Love event where trainers get the chance to change their Natural Form Furfrou to Heart Trim Furfrou. The event starts February 13 and runs until February 15.

Now some of you are probably wondering how to change Furfrou's Trim. The first thing you'll need to do during the event is look for Furfrou in your Pokémon Storage. Once that's done, follow these steps:

  • Tap Furfrou to check its summary.
  • Tap the Change Form button.
  • This should bring up a menu which lists the available trims.
  • Select the preferred trim.

By the way, changing trims won't be free. It's going to cost 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.

With the out of the way, there are two bonuses available during the event and these are:

  • Increased chance of receiving Candy XL when walking with your buddy.
  • Two guaranteed Candy XL for evolving Pokémon.

Wild Encounters

During the Carnival of Love event, there are Pokémon that are appearing more frequently in the wild. These are:

  • Snubbull
  • Skitty
  • Luvdisc
  • Furfrou
  • Stufful
  • Quaxly

Meanwhile, trainers lucky enough could encounter:

  • Roselia
  • White Flower Flabébé
  • Orange Flower Flabébé

Now those are not the only Pokémon appearing in the wild. There are also Pokémon appearing in specific regions and these are:

  • Baile Style Oricorio
    • Appearing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
  • Pom-Pom Style Oricorio
    • Appearing in the Americas.
  • Pa'u Style Oricorio
    • Appearing in African, Asian, Pacific, and Caribbean islands.
  • Sensu Style Oricorio
    • Appearing in the Asia-Pacific region.

But wait, there's more! Flabébé with differently colored flowers are appearing in the wild depending on where trainers are in the world:

  • Red Flower Flabébé
    • Appearing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
  • Blue Flower Flabébé
    • Appearing in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Yellow Flower Flabébé
    • Appearing in the Americas.

Field Research

Event-themed Field Research tasks are going to be available. These Pokémon are available to encounter after completing Field Research tasks:

  • Snubbull
  • Roselia
  • Spinda with a heart pattern
  • Clamperl
  • Luvdisc
  • Furfrou
  • Stufful

Those lucky enough may get to encounter a Shiny version of these Pokémon.

There's also an event-exclusive Timed Research which trainers can access for $1. Rewards include:

  • Stardust
  • XP
  • two Incense
  • Five encounters with Spinda with a heart pattern

Collection Challenge

Another activity that trainers can look forward to is a Carnival of Love–themed Collection Challenge. Trainers who can complete the Collection Challenge get to receive XP, Stardust, and even an encounter with Roserade.

Other Content

Once the event goes live, trainers can can buy the Luvdisc Tambourine Pose avatar item over at the in-game shop. Trainers should also keep their eyes out for Showcases at different PokéStops during the event.

Meanwhile, there's a treat for trainers located in Brazil. They get to experience exclusive bonus which is earning twice the XP for catching Pokémon during the event. This is in celebration of the Brazilian Carnaval.
