'You have to admit' - Former Man City player sends 'serious' Liverpool warning

Trevor Sinclair has warned Premier League leaders Manchester City that the title race with Liverpool will go right 'down to the wire'.

City have a six point lead at the top of the table, but Liverpool have a game in hand on their title rivals and are in the better form of the two sides.

The Reds have strung together six wins on the bounce in the Premier League to narrow the gap and are full of confidence following Sunday's Carabao Cup final win.

Ex-City man Sinclair believes the momentum in the race for the title is with Jurgen Klopp 's side.

“I do think momentum is with Liverpool, you have to admit that”, Sinclair told TalkSPORT.

“They have been playing some serious football, have been getting some great results and that win at Wembley on Sunday will give them a lot of confidence going into the rest of the fixtures

“So yes, it is going to go down to the wire.

“Both great teams, both to be celebrated, hopefully the best team will win in the end.”

Sinclair admitted that City have lost a bit of momentum with their recent displays and wants Pep Guardiola to rotate his starting XI more.

“I feel they have lost a little bit of momentum, maybe a little bit of confidence, a little bit self-belief," Sinclair added.

“I think Pep needs to rotate a little bit more.”
