You can now purchase Digital Gift Cards on the Uber app and you have the option to make your Uber Eats order ‘a gift’.
The launch of the new features comes as research reveals almost 43% of us have done last-minute Christmas shopping (up to 2 days before Christmas), with women being the worst offenders as 28% have forgotten to purchase a gift altogether versus 21% of men. When it comes to last-minute gifts, the most popular items we opt for are chocolates (49%), alcohol (46%) and gift cards (37%).
The gift card will allow the recipient to spend their credit across both Uber Eats and Uber Rides.
For over half (54%) of the UK, their favourite thing about Christmas is receiving an unexpected gift, closely followed by when it snows (46%). The new ‘Make it a gift’ feature in the Uber Eats app will allow you to surprise someone with a delivery to their door. Simply click ‘Make it a gift’ on the checkout screen, add in the correct address along with a gift message and their surprise will be on its way.

Digital Gift Cards & ‘Make it a Gift’ will be live on the Uber & Uber Eats apps from Today across the UK.
