You can now buy candles that smell like fish & chips, Cornish Pasties and old-school seaside arcades

A leading British staycation company has launched an eclectic new range of candles, sporting an array of unusual scents.

Parkdean Resorts has launched a number of seaside-themed smellies to bring a small part of the beach that little bit closer to home. In total there are 10 fragrances for candle fans, with fresh fish & chips, Cornish Pasties, and the familiar smell of a classic beachside arcade all featuring.

The fish and chips option, which has understandably had people talking, is described as an 'unbeatable aroma of the golden batter and seaside goodness of fish and chips' in a candle inspired by 'Britain's favourite meal' - while the Cornish Pasty choice is described as 'pungent fragrances of smoky meat, potato and pepper'.

For those wondering what exactly an arcade smells like, the product description reads: "Take a trip down memory lane with our uniquely scented, arcade-inspired candle. This nostalgically scented soy wax candle contains subtle hints of musty carpet and freshly made popcorn.

"Have this candle burning, and you’ll feel as if you’re right there in the mix of it - all that’s missing is the building frustration of losing at the claw machine."

Other scents available from Parkdean Resorts include, Ice Cream Van, Pick 'N' Mix and Candy Floss - while the holiday provider has also honed into specific smells from seasides around the UK.

Unfortunately, the North East isn't included in the mix itself, with the closest beach to the region being Yorkshire's Scarborough. Blackpool, Clacton-on-Sea and Great Yarmouth scents are also available for past visitors who want to revel in nostalgia.

Will you be in a rush to pick up one of the scented candles?
