You Can Hike To New Heights On This Towering Trestle Bridge In Ontario

Now that the snow has finally melted away, it's time to start planning all those warm-weather adventures. Ontario has tons of amazing trails and pathways waiting to be explored, and they are the perfect way to enjoy some fresh air and scenery. If you're looking to take your next hike to a new level, you can adventure across this massive bridge overlooking a valley. Ontario's Doube's Trestle Bridge will bring you towering views of streams and woodlands.

The province has no shortage of gorgeous trails, but if you want to try something a little different, this spot should be on your list.

Located in the Kawartha Lakes, Doube's Trestle Bridge is part of the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail.

The 200-metre bridge towers 29-metres over the picturesque Buttermilk Valley.

You can wander across this peaceful historic landmark and soak in the gorgeous views of the landscape below.

The bridge, constructed in 1883, was once a railway crossing. Now, it serves as a four-season route for hikers, snowshoers, and more to explore.

The entire Kawartha Trans Canada Trail spans 54 kilometres. The limestone surface makes it the perfect spot for walking and bike riding.

Ontario has tons of other bridges waiting to be explored as well.
