You can get the Apple Watch Ultra First Gen for a massive $100 off ahead of October's Amazon Prime Sale

It’s the perfect time to score a surprise deal on an Apple gadget. The Cupertino-based tech giant just unveiled the new Series 9 and Ultra Apple Watches, and we’re a week out from Amazon’s Prime Day in October, aka Prime Big Deal Days.

You could say lightning, much like Amazon Lightning Deals, has struck as the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra is $100 off. That brings the most expensive Apple Watch down to just $699, and you still get an advanced wearable experience.

While the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is a thing, it’s identical to the first generation and only adds in a few features—it’s not a complete redesign or even a new paint job. You’ll want to act fast, though, if you’re keen on sporting the original Ultra—this deal is only good while supplies last, and once it’s gone, Amazon won’t be restocking.

We’re sharing what makes this deal great, along with the first Apple Watch Ultra 2 discount. You can get a free trial of Amazon Prime here if you aren’t yet a member.

As our friends at SI Swim said in their Apple Watch Ultra review, the most advanced Apple Watch is designed for adventures both near and far. It starts with a more durable case crafted from titanium and an edge around a large 49-millimeter display. This not only looks sharp, but it protects the screen from potential cracks. The display here also gets seriously bright, up to 2,000 nits, so you can see what’s on it in any lighting condition.

The Apple Watch Ultra, like the SE or Series 9, sports a Digital Crown and control button on the right-hand side, but these are more durable and larger here. This way, you can easily find and scroll or push while wearing gloves. The Ultra also features the Action Button, much like the iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max, that can be customized for nearly any function. You can also hold it in for a few seconds to activate the emergency siren, which reaches 86-decibels.

On the rear is Apple’s latest sensor stack that enables the Ultra to track basic activity, heart rate, skin temperature, blood oxygen levels, and even take an ECG or Electrocardiogram right from your wrist. Under the hood, Apple’s S8 processor keeps watchOS 10 and any command from the wearer running smoothly. When tracking an activity like a hike or just using the compass to track your position, you’ll benefit from two bands of GPS for better connectivity. The Apple Watch Ultra comes out of the box with cellular support

Lastly, the Apple Watch Ultra offers multi-day battery life for regular use. This means you won’t need to place it on the charger to wear it during the day and to track your sleep. It also comes with a premium braided USB-C to charging puck cable in the box, and the Ultra supports fast charging.

At $100 off, there has never been a better time to get the Apple Watch Ultra, and considering it’s only missing a brighter display, the forthcoming Double Tap gesture, and the newer S9 processor, it’s still an incredibly capable smartwatch.

There is no telling how long the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra will be in stock on Amazon, though, so if you’re sold, head over and check out now. At checkout, you can also get AppleCare+ for $4.99 monthly or $99 for two years for the Apple Watch Ultra.

Now, if you do want the forthcoming Double Tap gesture—you can see our hands-on with it on the Apple Watch Series 9 here—, the faster S9 chip that enables on-device Siri, or the brighter 49-millimeter Retina display (up to 3,000-nits), there is a deal on the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

At Amazon, you can save $25 on the Ultra 2 with the incredibly good-looking “Indigo Alpine Loop”. It’s down to just $774 and ships fast for Amazon Prime members. You can also save $19 on the Ultra 2 with a blue or Olive Alpine Loop and an orange, blue, or white Ocean Band. As of this story publishing, the Apple Watch Ultra 2’ with any Trail Loop is not yet discounted.
