If your game wallet is currently devoid of coins, you don’t have to actually spend money to get the skin. For the promotion’s durations, Blizzard is rewarding you with a few hundred Overwatch Coins for completing weekly challenges.
You can also redeem Microsoft Points for Overwatch Coins, if you play on Xbox and have any points accrued.
The Gingerbread Bastion skin transforms the cute little robot into a gingerbread tank, complete with an adorable little gumdrop hat. His gun may be bedecked with candy canes, but he and his fondant-coated turret are still a mighty force on the battlefield.
As Kotaku pointed out, the downside of this bundle costing 1 Overwatch Coin is that this bundle costs 1 Overwatch Coin. Your coin balance will forever be one coin shy of whatever threshold you needed to reach for the next skin or bundle you wanted to get. No such thing as a free lunch indeed.
Meanwhile, the Winter Wonderland festival is still going strong, with a free Brigitte skin on offer for those who manage to complete roughly half a dozen of the event’s snow-themed challenges.
