If you're looking to escape reality for a while, then you're in for a real treat, with The Sims 4 freely available to download from tomorrow onwards. Without spending so much as a single penny, you can now create your own little world from your couch, complete with houses, pets, and volatile virtual relationships.
As of October 18th, fans of the classic life simulation series can leap straight into the addictive world of The Sims via their PC, Mac, or console. Released back in 2014, The Sims 4 brought the popular game to new levels, with improved personality-generating systems allowing for more in-depth gameplay.
Although those who've already bought The Sims 4 may feel a little peeved at having paid full whack, they are also in for a freebie, with EA offering those who already own the game a free furniture expansion pack. Needless to say, fans will be raring to get going with the game, which many will no doubt have fond nostalgic memories of.
A statement on the EA website reads as follows: "We’ve welcomed millions of players to The Sims and watched in awe as they unleashed their imaginations, discovered and connected with ideas, experiences and versions of themselves, both in-game and real life.
"Our community has continued to inspire us with the billions of unique Sims they’ve created, the countless stories they’ve told, and the remarkable builds they've designed. We’re excited to continue to welcome in more players than ever to create new stories, and explore without boundaries."
The game will be freely available for all new players to download on PC via EA app or Origin, Mac via Origin, Steam, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One systems.
You can find out more information about this special giveaway during a special livestream on The Sims' YouTube and Twitch channels at 5pm GMT.
