You can apply to be in Eastenders, Doctor Who, Casualty and other BBC shows for 15 seconds

BBC viewers now have the opportunity to apply to appear in some of their favourite TV shows - including the chance to order a pint in the Queen Vic.

The broadcaster has opened its '15 seconds of fame' campaign to celebrate its centenary.

Viewers can apply to make brief appearances on some of the BBC's biggest hitting shows. Opportunities up for grabs include ordering a drink on EastEnders, lying motionless as a patient on Casualty and being an alien on Doctor Who.

Other roles include lying announcing ‘voting now open’ on Strictly Come Dancing, making a sound effect on The Archers, or doing a spot of gardening on Gardeners’ World.

The chosen fans will get to spend time on set, record their scenes and see themselves in the shows

The campaign is being launched to thank audiences for being part of 100 years of the BBC.

The One Show host Ronan Keating said: “It’s great for The One Show to be announcing the BBC’s ’15 seconds of fame’ initiative, what a fabulous opportunity it is for viewers to get the chance to star in one of their favourite shows.

“I can’t wait to get some tips for everyone from Jane Slaughter, aka Tracey the Barmaid in EastEnders, next week.”

Applications can be made on the BBC website and close at midnight on November 4 2022, with fan opportunities subject to change.
