Yosuke Ideguchi posts touching Celtic goodbye message after Japan move

Yosuke Ideguchi has posted an emotional goodbye to Celtic fans after he joined Japanese champions Vissel Kobe on a permanent deal.

The midfielder had a injury stricken spell in Glasgow after originally joining the Parkhead side in January 2022 along with fellow countrymen Daizen Maeda and Rio Hatate.

A knock suffered on his first and only start for the club  against Alloa derailed his momentum and the 27-year-old struggled to recover.

He made just six competitive appearances for Celtic, the last of which coming in a 6-0 win over Motherwell on the last day of the 2021/22 league season.

Ideguchi joined Japanese side Avispa Fukuoka last January where he would impress across the campaign.

This led to him being nominated for J1 League Player of the Year. And now he has taken to social media to express his thanks.

He wrote: "I'll never forget my memories of Glasgow. Thank you to all of you. I'm cheering you on from Japan.

"Thank you."

Meanwhile, Nicolas Kuhn could be edging closer to a move from Rapid Vienna to Celtic after comments made by the club's sporting director Markus Katzer.

The winger is on the Hoops' transfer radar and initial reports claimed he could be signed for around £2.5million.

Kuhn has seven goals and 10 assists across 18 months in the Austrian Bundesliga after joining from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022.

Katzer has previously attempted to quell any speculation by stating: "I assume that everyone will be with us in the second half of the season,

"I haven’t heard anything to the contrary." However, the club official seems to have changed his tune in recent days.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Every player has his price. If the offer is right, of course you have to deal with it."
