Yoshimura’s Badass Restomod Suzuki Motorcycle Can Actually Be Yours

When it comes to racing heritage, few brands can match the legacy of Suzuki. From the dominant RG500s of the '70s and '80s to the ferocious GSX-R series that reshaped sportbikes forever, Suzuki has consistently punched above its weight on the track.

Over the decades, bikes like the Katana endurance racers, the iconic Kevin Schwantz RGV500, and more recently, the GSX-R1000 in WorldSBK and MotoAmerica, have solidified the brand’s place in motorsport history.

Among these, the GSX-R750 stands out as a true icon. Introduced in 1985, it was one of the first bikes to bring a race-ready package to the street—lightweight, powerful, and aggressive. Fast-forward to today, and while the 750cc class may no longer dominate the showroom floor, the GSX-R750 remains a cult favorite.

Out of all the restored, preserved, and modified Suzuki GSX-Rs out there, one of them stands out from the crowd. It is built by one of the most respected performance and aftermarket outfits in Japan: Yoshimura. And it looks amazing.

We’ve actually talked about this exact bike before—a restomod GSX-R750 transformed into something truly special. Now, the story gets even more exciting: you can actually buy this bike.

Yoshimura’s “Complete Machine #604” is part of their Heritage series, and it’s nothing short of a rolling tribute to the golden era of Japanese superbikes. Finished in classic Yoshimura endurance livery, the bike brings together old-school looks and modern performance in a way that’s rare to see today.

Underneath the retro-inspired bodywork, it’s all business. The bike is based on a 1986 GSX-R750, which means you get a period-correct oil-cooled, 749cc inline-four pushing out around 100 or so ponies. Clearly, Yoshimura didn’t just slap on a paint job and call it a day.

It’s packed with performance upgrades: a custom Yoshimura Cyclone exhaust system, high-spec adjustable suspension, and upgraded brakes. CNC-machined parts, and a whole suite of Yoshimura engine and chassis goodies elevate it well beyond your average supersport. The ergonomics have even been tweaked for a more aggressive, race-oriented feel.

From every angle, this bike oozes factory racer energy—but with a touch of nostalgia that hits just right.

And here’s the kicker: this isn’t just a concept or a one-off display bike. Yoshimura is putting this machine up for auction. There’s no fixed price, but the starting bid is set at 6.04 million yen, or roughly $40,237 USD. It’s not cheap, but considering the craftsmanship, parts list, and sheer cool factor, it might be a bargain for the right collector or Suzuki die-hard.

The auction is expected to kick off around June 2025, and you can find more details straight from Yoshimura’s official website. If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a factory-built retro-modern race machine with true collector appeal, this might just be your moment.

Because bikes like this? They don’t come around often.
