A new ' Christmas advert ' by a video production company in Yorkshire has been dubbed "the best" of the year, with some saying it's better than major retailers' efforts.
Sam Teale Productions - which was founded in 2020 - shared its festive advert yesterday (December 1). It has already amassed more than 7 million views on Facebook.
It carries the message: "The magic of Christmas is made, not bought". It's attracted much praise, with some saying it's better than adverts by the likes of John Lewis and Tesco.
The video centres on a father who is raising his child alone following the death of his wife. Although struggling financially, he wants his son to have a magical Christmas.
One scene shows his young son getting a haircut. He's asked by the barber what he'll get for Christmas but he responds: "Santa's poorly this year". His dad is seen looking emotional.
The dad is later seen cooking a meal for his son and only has a glass of water himself. He's also shown keeping warm in just coat - having switched the heating and lights off after his son has gone to bed.
A visit to his wife's grave provides him with some inspiration for a Christmas present. He's reminded of a time when they used to play on makeshift go-karts and decides to make one.
He's shown working on the project in his spare time and presents the go-kart to his son on Christmas morning. His son excitedly opens the gift and a card from 'Santa'.

The advert ends with the pair visiting the graveyard with the little boy on the go-kart. He says upon reaching his late mother's grave: "Merry Christmas, mummy".
The video has been praised by viewers on social media this week. Some have said that it's the "best" festive advert that they have ever seen and many found it emotional.
One person wrote: "Beautiful, heartbreaking and so moving. It's definitely the Christmas advert of the year!" Another said: "Best Christmas advert from anywhere, of all time."
"That tops every Christmas advert I've seen. So close to home and a true inspiration," wrote another. A fourth said: "The best and most true Christmas advert I've seen so far".
Another commented: "Forget John Lewis, Tesco, whoever. This is the Christmas advert of the year this year. Absolutely beautiful. I'm sobbing! Well done to everyone involved".
"One of the best videos I've ever watched. Incredibly moving and powerful," said one viewer. Another said: "I've watched it twice and cried both times. By far the best Christmas ad I've ever seen".
They weren't alone in finding it emotional. Another viewer wrote in response to the festive ad recently: "In tears watching this video. I loved it. What a great message".
"Omg most emotional advert ever. That just broke me," said one viewer. Another added: "I got goose bumps all over me". Whilst another said: "That bloody broke my heart".
"The message is heartwarming and so sad and will be relevant to many people at Xmas who have lost a loved one, or who are struggling in this climate," wrote one viewer.
It's just one of the Christmas ads that have got people talking this year. John Lewis' focuses on the foster care system, whilst Tesco's acknowledges the cost of living crisis.
