A Birmingham-based cafe chain is opening a new store this week to mark its 10th anniversary - and is planning a new city centre store that could create another 50 jobs.
Yorks Café and Coffee Roasters is opening in Stratford-upon-Avon on Wednesday - its second cafe in the town and its fourth venue overall. The company says the new outlet in Bell Court will create some 30 jobs.
Yorks is also planning to open another all-day cafe in the Paradise district of Birmingham, opposite Dishoom, in autumn - a move it says will bring some 50 jobs to the city centre.

The company's first Stratford cafe, in High Street, opened just four weeks before the Covid pandemic and managed to survive the lockdowns and closures by pivoting to takeaway service.
Owner Simon Ford said: “We are really pleased to be opening a further Yorks in Stratford as we continue to build a bold, but responsible café & restaurant business, never diluting our soul or personality and having a lasting impact on the people we touch and the environments in which we live.
“Each café aims to celebrate the diversity of our customers, and this is reflected in our global food and the empathetically designed cafes. When we found this new location, we were inspired to take our café culture to the next level and introduce all-day dining – and we really hope our customers enjoy it.”
Paloma Lindfield, manager of the new café, said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to our second café in Stratford to mark our 10th anniversary."
