Yobs trash Lanarkshire pub's ladies toilets forcing boozer to close

Two people who went on a wrecking rampage in a Lanarkshire pub have apologised after trashing the toilets.

The West End Bar in Blantyre described the culprits as "animals" after the shocking damage was discovered on Saturday night.

It's understood three women were responsible after CCTV footage of the incident was reviewed.

Bar owner Jamie Duffy was giving them the opportunity to explain themselves before he reports the matter to police.

A sink unit was ripped out of the wall and two sinks were pulled out of the unit in the ladies bathroom.

It's said that the vandals then left the toilets leaving the whole room flooding before being seen laughing about it when they returned to continue drinking.

And now two of the women have come forward to offer their apologies as Jamie explains "they were mortified".

He added: "Two have came forward but still waiting on the third. It's not been reported to police..

"They were very apologetic, mortified and couldn't have been more sorry.

"I've had messages off companies offering to come and fix any paint work for nothing. Very generous."

Locals were told about the vandalism as the pub shared pictures of the mess left by the women.

The West End Bar posted at the time: "A great night was called short due to the animal, which is really the only way to describe such individual, who thought it would be fun to rip the sink unit off the wall in the ladies, pull the two sinks out the unit and leave it until the place flooded!

"Absolutely sick of people having ZERO respect for property that is not theirs… if this is how you treat others property I would hate to see what your house is like!

"Apologies to everyone who was in and had to leave early, we really didn’t want to close but we had no choice!

"Until further notice the ladies will be out of action, ladies will need to use the accessible access toilet in the bar.

"Our amazing plumber will get onto this asap and we’ll have the toilet reopened when sorted."

In an update to the incident yesterday, the pub established that it was three individuals who were responsible.

And they even threatened to post the women's photos on Facebook and go to the police if they did not own up to their actions by Wednesday.

The boozer said: "We will give these three ladies the opportunity to come forward and give us their side of the story, we will give you until Wednesday to offer your story up and if you don’t we will then go to the police.

"This is criminal damage and a costly criminal damage at that; we aren’t asking you to pay for the damage but at least an apology and an explanation as to what happened!

"At the end of the day, that unit didn’t just fall off the wall, it was screwed to the wall, and it has two legs under it.

"You know what happened and left the toilet and sat back down whilst having a wee laugh about it - why did it happen? why didn’t you tell the staff? and even more annoying you walked right by the door when we were emptying the lounge and actually had the brass neck to laugh again!!!

"We can rightly put you picture up on here but right now we aren’t - but we may if you don’t come forward!

"Balls in your court!"
