Yob spat in bouncer's face after being ejected from Lanarkshire hotel

A clubber spat in the face of a bouncer after being thrown out of a Wishaw hotel.

Josh Cunningham, 21, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.

He admitted acting aggressively, making threats and spitting at the male steward outside the Commercial Hotel on July 16 last year.

The court heard that Cunningham, who was on bail at the time, had been drinking and was ejected around 2am after vomiting.

Rebecca Clark, prosecuting, said: "He was angry with one of the security staff and was shouting and issuing threats.

"After being released at the main door, he turned around and spat, hitting the man's face with the spittle.

"The incident was captured on CCTV and the security officers flagged down a passing police car."

Defence agent Scott Jones said Cunningham, of Gateside Road, Craigneuk, is currently on a 12-month supervision order in relation to another case.

Sheriff John Hamilton deferred sentence until July for background reports and an electronic tagging assessment.
