American rapper YNW Melly has been charged with murder, police said.
The Florida-based star, real name Jamell Demons, is accused of shooting Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr dead in October last year.
Miramar Police said on Wednesday that Demons has been charged with two counts of first degree murder.
Cortlen Henry has also been arrested and charged with two counts of murder after the killings.
Williams and Thomas Jr were also rappers and went by the names of YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser. They have been described as close friends of Demons.
According to the police, Demons is alleged to have shot Williams and Thomas Jr and he and Henry are said to have staged the scene to make it look like they were killed in a drive-by shooting.
The police wrote on Twitter: "The investigation, supported by forensic evidence, has concluded that Demons shot and killed Williams & Thomas Jr. and that Demons and Henry staged the crime scene to resemble a drive-by shooting."
Local newspaper the Treasure Coast Palm reported that Thomas, 19, Willams, 21, were driven to hospital but were pronounced dead.
Police spokesman Tania Rues told the paper at the time: "They arrived with multiple gunshot wounds. They were dead already."
With his most famous song 'Murder on my Mind' earning nearly 90 million views on YouTube, Demons is a rising star in rap and recently released a track with Kanye West called 'Mixed Personalities'.
He is signed to Young Thug's record label YSL Records and 300 Entertainment after his debut album I Am You reached number 192 on the Billboard 200 in January this year.
Demons, who was arrested in January on misdemeanor drug charges, was scheduled to launch his American tour on Thursday.
