One of Bristol's longest-established and best-known late-night venues, Yia Mass, has gone on the market. The popular bar previously went up for sale in 2018 after being under the same ownership for fourteen years. According to the property agency Fleurets, the business is still trading successfully, and offers are being invited for the lease of the property as a going concern.
With its prime location near Bristol University and a 4:30 am premises licence, Yia Mass has long been a favourite amongst Bristol's student population. Located on busy Park street, it sits in a hub of independent and chain bars and eateries.
The owners commented: “We have had the privilege of running Yia Mass for a number of years, welcoming fantastic customers to our venue. From students to professionals, Yia Mass is a friendly bar and club which continues to thrive in the city. We have a number of other business interests which we wish to pursue and are excited to hand over the reins to a new operator.”

Marketed with Fleurets, the Grade II listed property is within the Park Street and Brandon Hill conservation area and offers 2,293 sq ft of space set over the basement, ground and mezzanine levels. The current leasehold extends to June 2042 with an annual rent of £42,000.
The ground floor, with access from Park Street, offers wooden floors, a stone-built bar and a dance floor benefitting from a raised DJ booth. Currently, Yia Mass has premises licences in place until 4.30 am and licences for the sale of alcohol, recorded music, live music and dancing.
The property comes fully fitted and has a former trade kitchen at the rear. The business previously operated as an eatery during the day and could be a tempting prospect for a food-based business.
Downstairs there are customer toilets, an office, several storage areas and a temperature-controlled beer store.
In its listing, Fleurets said: "This is one of the strongest leisure pitches in Bristol, within walking distance of the University of Bristol and the property is well positioned to benefit from the significant passing trade. The presence of a former trade kitchen offers the potential to introduce a food trade if an incoming operator wished to do so."
Kevin Conibear from Fleurets, who is handling the sale, added: “Yia Mass has a strong following in the city, given its prominent location on Park Street and long trading history. Venues with late licences always generate strong demand and in recent years we have transacted a considerable number in the area, which have attracted multiple bids and demand and we anticipate strong interest in this sale.”
