MORE than 30 Yes groups are taking part in a “day of action litter pick” in towns and cities across Scotland.
Believe in Scotland (BiS) has teamed up with a West of Scotland group that started the litter-picking initiative last year.
Yes Prestwick has held several events with dozens of volunteers, including former SNP MP Philippa Whitford, taking part.
The project is now going national, led by Yes Prestwick's Peter Laing, with 33 groups hosting their own within their local town and cities. Most are hosting the day of action this weekend on Saturday, April 5.
Litter picks for children are also being planned.
Founder of BiS Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp said: "It’s great to see so many people from local Yes Groups showing pride in their communities and pride in Scotland.
"Community activism needs to be at the core of the civic campaign for independence, people are running out the political parties but open to talking to campaign groups that are seen as local champions.”
