Yerry Mina has been filmed arguing with angry Everton fans in the street after their loss to Southampton on Saturday, with teammate Anthony Gordon's vehicle also being blocked by raging supporters.
Mina had been an unused substitute as Frank Lampard 's side suffered a dismal defeat, which plunged the Toffees further into relegation trouble. Lampard's men are now second bottom of the Premier League.
Tempers have been fraying for some time at Goodison Park and have now burst out into the open following the dire reverse against the Saints. As the players were departing the stadium in their own cars, angry fans surrounded them and blocked their path. In a video that circulated on social media on Saturday evening, Mina could be seen out of his car arguing with fans blocking his path. One member of that group was speaking directly to the defender.
"You're going to leave us if we go down aren't ya, if we go the Championship, you'll leave won't ya? You'll leave. If we go down to the Championship, will you stay? No you won't. If we go down, will you stay? I want you to show heart lad," the fan said.
Mina's response to the supporter was inaudible, though he could be seen pointing to the Everton badge. The fan grew increasingly animated in response to Mina's comments.
"Show us a bit of heart then. Be a leader. Speak out. All we want is passion. Show us a bit of passion. Start speaking up lad, show them you're the man. Be our captain lad, you could be our captain if you speak up. Wear the armband. Speak up."
Mina stayed calm before shaking hands with several of the supporters who were blocking his car. A police officer then approached the group from Mina's back before trying to get the defender back in his car.

The Colombian's interaction with those raging fans came as angry supporters also surrounded Gordon's car and screamed obscenities at the attacker. Gordon played the final 20 minutes of the defeat to Southampton and found himself at the centre of a crowd of angry fans as he left Goodison Park.
"You f****** d***head. Eh, you f****** k***head. Gordon, what the f*** lad? Gordon, what the f*** lad?" a supporter filming the encounter can be heard shouting as he runs up to Gordon's car.
Other supporters added chants of "get out of our club" and "you're not fit to wear the shirt".
Everton have won just three games all season, with their last win coming in October, leaving Lampard warning of a tough road ahead.
"It's a difficult period. There is so much passion at this club for the right reasons, everyone wants the best for the club. Of course, over the years we've come in a direction where we were in a relegation battle last year and again this year," he told BBC Sport.
"It's obviously difficult and disappointing, especially when you go 1-0 up. It's a tough game, there's a lot of tension for both teams I think. We showed spirit and then an early goal in the second half changes the tone of the game. We came back, created some things, we hit the bar but then, typically at the moment, we concede a free-kick and it goes in our net. Obviously, it's disappointing. It was a big game for us and we lost."
