'Yellow warning' for snow issued in Stirling as travel disruption expected

A 'yellow warning' for expected snow showers has been issued between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

The Met Office has warned of possible travel disruption due to the wintry conditions, with the warning covering Stirling, Clackmannanshire and Falkirk - as well as the Tayside and Fife areas.

Drivers have been told to expect longer journey times and commuters on buses and trains told to expect delays to services.

The snow showers will see accumulations of around 2-5 cm possible above 200 metres elevation, with perhaps around 10 cm on some of the highest routes above 400 metres.

Meanwhile, at lower levels, the snow will remain at quite low levels, with some slight slushy falls possible, as well as a risk of icy surfaces, before the snow becomes more confined to high ground during Thursday morning.
